A unique and refreshing wine that combines two indigenous Georgian grape varieties, Danakharauli and Rkatsiteli. This wine is produced using traditional Georgian winemaking methods, which include fermentation of grapes in kvevri.
Danakharauli and Rkatsiteli grapes are harvested by hand at optimum maturity.
The grapes are crushed using a traditional press called a satsnaheli to extract the juice and pulp.
The juice, pulp, skins and seeds are placed in a quevrey and left to ferment naturally using the yeast and bacteria present on the grape skins.
The wine without skins is then aged in the quévry for several months to bring out its unique flavour and aroma.
Barbale Winery Danakharauli & Rkatsiteli Rosé Qvevri has a light salmon-pink colour and refreshing acidity with notes of red fruits and floral aromas, delicate tannins are present. Overall, this wine is ideal for drinking on a warm day or as a refreshing accompaniment to a light snack.
