Описание

“Soler” is a word of the Venetian dialect, meaning the top floor of a rural house: an attic, a barn. Historically, it has been used by viticulturists to dry the best grapes, as solera has good ventilation, low humidity and is sunny. In fact, the word “solèr” comes from “sole”, which in Italian means “sun”, which helps to dry the grapes.
Marzemino grapes are grown on the estate of Colvendrame in Refrontolo, in the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, north of Venice. Refosco, Carmenere, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown on the estate of Le Ronche, located in Fossalta di Piave.
In Refrontolo, the soil is particularly rich in clay and tuff, which characterizes the wine. In Fossalta di Piave, the alluvial soil is very rich in clay.
The climate is mild, with very little rain and high summer temperatures, allowing the grapes to ripen under the best conditions. There are drastic temperature changes between day and night, ideal for preserving the aroma and acidity of the grapes.
In order to achieve ideal ripening of the grapes, in addition to the usual care of the vineyard, summer pruning and careful thinning of the leaves are carried out. In addition, the yield is kept at a very low level in order to increase the quality characteristics and concentration of the berries.
Harvest from late September and early October, with extreme maturation of the grapes, allowing it to reach its highest peak of color depth, complete its aromatic structure and smooth out tannins.
Marzemino and Refosco grapes are dried, and the other part is classically vinified at a controlled temperature. Then the dried grapes are separated from the stalks and crushed, fermentation will take place in special containers at a controlled temperature. Then the wine is aged for 12 months in barriques, and then another 12 months in bottles.
Deep ruby color, intense aromas of ripe fruit, prunes, violets, with ethereal and spicy notes; full body, very complex structure, silky tannins and complex bouquet.
Its structure and complexity allow the wine to improve during bottle maturation, which can last up to 15 years, reaching its peak 10 years after harvest.
