The oldest known production of sparkling wine was realised in 1531 in France. The wine made according to this ancient method was called Pétillant Naturel - Pét-Nat. In the world this method is known under different names. In Georgia, wine made using this method is called Machari.
Created from the Saperavi grape variety, this Pét-Nat wine was made by cold maceration on the skins to complete fermentation in the bottle.
The wine has been freed from most of the lees, but contains some natural sediment.
This dark ruby-coloured, very sparkling wine expresses rich aromas of ripe black and red berries with a pleasant yeasty aftertaste.
