Description

It is a local white grape variety that best expresses the terroir of Roero. The grapes grow on sandy soil reminiscent of the ancient seabed and still rich in fossil shells. This richness is expressed in intense mineral notes. This mono-varietal Arneis wine can age for several years, becoming more refined and aristocratic with age.
Vineyard age: 20 years.
Grapes are harvested by hand in boxes of 20kg. Mid September.
Vinification: soft pressing. No maceration on the skins. Slow fermentation at 16/17°C to guarantee the preservation of aromas.
Maturation: in steel tanks for six months.
Straw yellow colour with greenish highlights; delicate bouquet of white flowers, acacia, honey and chamomile. Notes that transform with age into hydrocarbons, flint and hay aromas. Nicely mineral, balanced, with a floral aftertaste slightly reminiscent of crusty bread, golden delicious apples and pineapple.
