Description

For this extraordinary wine, the best Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon grapes are selected from the vineyards on the hillside of the "Girlan" cru. They grow in different vineyards of 15 to 20 years of age, at an altitude of 450 to 500 metres above sea level. The growing area is rich in minerals as a result of Ice Age sedimentation.
The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in small containers to prevent excessive pressure on the grapes. The whole bunch is gently pressed and the must is clarified by natural sedimentation. Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon are fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Chardonnay is fermented in 12 and 15 hectolitre oak barrels followed by malolactic fermentation. Maturation on the lees is 10 months. After blending and bottling, the wine is aged for a further 9 months before being released as a Riserva.
Elegant frame and fine consistency with intense fruity notes. Excellent structure, aromatic and mineral, with a persistent flavour.
