Description

In a word: king.
The unfinished name "Am" conveys this still unfinished "work".
The shape of the letter A is reminiscent of a vat, a symbol of winemaking, as well as a hair clip, denoting a woman's wine.
Vinification and maturation: after pressing in January, the grapes are aged in steel tanks and in concrete vats without the addition of yeast or other biotechnical means until fermentation begins, with very little pump-overs. After maceration on pomace for more than 2 months, the wine matures in large ovals of Slavonian oak for at least 5 years. From then on, regular topping up is the only operation performed: time very gradually moulds the characteristics of the wine. It is aged in the bottle for one year. Amarone is only produced in the best growing years.
The colour is an intense ruby red, turning garnet with ageing
The aroma has notes of ripe cherry and morello, semi-dried plum and spices.
The taste starts with an appealing spiciness, reflecting aromas in the nose and adding fruit preserves; with ageing, the palate lengthens, offering subtle hints of pepper, black liquorice and cocoa powder.
