Description

A classic Riserva from Inama: 1997 was the first vintage of a wine that was named Bradisismo, just like the geological phenomenon that created the Colli Berici territory. Bradisismo is a synthesis of the intense aroma of ripe and concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon cherries together with the brightness of Carmnere: pepper, cocoa and wild berries.
The hand-picked grapes, placed in 15kg crates, are carefully peeled from the stalks, taking care not to damage the skin of the berries. Before fermentation, maceration is carried out for 24-48 hours, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel: it lasts 23-28 days at a controlled temperature of no more than 28°C.
At the end of malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred into French oak barriques (41% new, 59% used once) for a total of 12 months. After an initial maturation period in separate batches, they are blended and complete their evolution in wood.
The Bradisismo is then aged for a further 4 months in stainless steel before being bottled where it continues to mature for at least 12 months before being released to the market.
The nose shows intense aromas of red and black fruits, spices, pepper, ripe cherries and chocolate. The tannins are well balanced and give the wine extra longevity.
"The current label was developed in the late 1990s when the vineyards were purchased. It offers a view that is rather related to the Colli Berici territory.
The drawing by architect Nicholas Wood shows a house in the heart of the Lonigo estate, surrounded by vineyards, where the Inama family lives.
The dwelling was built between 1600 and 1700, probably on a pre-existing medieval site, and restored in the nineteenth century. The house was originally owned by the Venier family from Venice, who grew tobacco on the flat parts of the property in the 1700s. Traces of this activity can be found in the "barchesse" that still stand next to the house and were used for drying tobacco leaves. In those days the whole province of Vicenza was part of the Venetian Serene Republic and many Venetian families owned property in the Colli Berici area.
