Lagvinari is a small organic winery founded in 2011 by Dr. Irakli Glonti, a former physician and geologist who works closely with local winegrowers. In the production of wines, Glonti uses local autochthonous grape varieties and ancient methods of winemaking, in order to promote the development of Georgian agriculture and preserve the rich winemaking heritage.
Lagvinari, Saperavi – dry red wine made from autochthonous Saperavi grapes grown in Eastern Georgia, in the Kakheti region. The name of the variety comes from the Georgian word “saperi”, which means “painted”. Saperavi belongs to the group of varieties united by the French term “Teinturier”. This group includes varieties with dark red flesh and dark juice, characterized by an abundance of anthocyanins in the pulp and a higher level of tannins. Fermentation in clay vessels Qvevri.
It has a deep rich red, dark cherry color. The aroma of berries combined with prunes, cherries and peppers. Full-bodied, tannic with chocolate bitterness and a long fruity aftertaste.
Long term storage potential.
Unrefined, unfiltered, low sulfite.
We advise you to open the wine 1 hour before drinking and use the aerator.
