Georgian natural wine. Chitistvala was the very first wine ever made by Casreli. It is created from very rare Georgia grape variety, which is also called Chitistvala. Back then, in 2016 Casreli was the only ones who made and bottled the wine from this variety: Chitistvala Tetri 60%, Kisi 20%, Rkatsiteli 20%. The word Chitistvala means bird’s eye in English. No surprise that Georgians gave this name to the grape that has very small berries with thick skin and reach, concentrated juice. Chitistvala was also the very first wine of winery, which in 2017 won a gold medal on Qvevri Wine International Competition. This was the victory that made winemaker think that winemaking should be not only hobby, but also the business. Thus, Chitistvala is very important product for Casreli Winery. The wine was fermented and aged in qvevri vessels with 8 month skin and stems maceration. Grapes are grown in Kakheti, on the right bank of river Alazani, village Vachnadziani, Shaloant Akhoebi – specific terroir, located at 450 meters above the sea level in a dry, hot climate, on rocky/silty soil. The wine is unfiltered.
