Description

Lagvinari is a small organic winery founded in 2011 by Dr Irakli Glonti, a former physician and geologist who works closely with local winegrowers. Glonti's wines are produced using local autochthonous grape varieties and ancient winemaking techniques, with the aim of promoting Georgian agriculture and preserving its rich winemaking heritage.
Lagvinari, Saperavi is a red dry wine made from autochthonous Saperavi grapes grown in Eastern Georgia, in the Kakheti region. The name of the variety comes from the Georgian word "saperi", which means "coloured". Saperavi is part of a group of varieties united by the French term "Teinturier". This group includes varieties with dark red flesh and dark juice, characterised by an abundance of anthocyanins in the pulp and higher levels of tannins. Fermentation in Quévry clay vessels.
Has a deep rich red, dark cherry colour. Aroma of berries combined with prunes, cherries and pepper. Full-bodied, tannin with chocolate bitterness and a long fruity aftertaste.
Long-term storage potential.
Unpurified, unfiltered, low sulphite content.
We suggest opening the wine 1 hour before drinking and using an aerator.
