Naturalmente Rosso is a blend of two grape varieties that have been grown extensively in Venetian vineyards for centuries. Organic and biodynamic principles in the vineyard, hand harvesting, no manipulation in the winery, indigenous yeasts, skin contact fermentation and no filtration are the methods used to make this wine. Produced at the Le Ronche estate located in Fossalta di Piave. "Le Ronche" is the name of the place where this vineyard is located, about 10 kilometres from the Adriatic Sea and 50 kilometres from the Dolomite Alps.
The soil is alluvial, consisting of caranto, a mixture of white clay and minerals of the Dolomite Alps.
The climate is mild, with very little rain and high summer temperatures, allowing the grapes to ripen in the best conditions.
To achieve perfect ripening of the grapes, summer pruning and careful thinning of the leaves are carried out in addition to the usual vineyard maintenance. The harvest is also kept very low to produce grapes with rich body and flavour. The focus is on organic farming.
Harvested in late September for Merlot and late October for Raboso, very ripe hand-picked grapes with deep colour and full aromatic structure.
Separation of the grapes from the crests and crushing, maceration and fermentation with wild indigenous yeasts in concrete vats. The wine matures for about 12 months on noble lees in oak barriques. No filtration and low sulphite levels.
Intense ruby colour, bouquet of ripe red fruit with cherry and raspberry notes, full body, good level of silky tannins, dense texture and spice notes.
In a cool and dark place, keeping the bottle in a horizontal position. Its structure and complexity allow the wine to improve during maturation in bottle, which can last up to 20 years, reaching its peak 10 years after harvest.
